Redirection is a WordPress plugin to manage 301 redirections and keep track of 404 errors without requiring knowledge of Apache .htaccess files.
What I like the most is the fact that this plugin automatically tracks your uri's. If you change a post slug this would usually produce a problem because google would have the old url and lead the visitors to a non existing page. But this pluggy makes the redirect for you. This helped me a thousand times.
I've been using this for a few years now and I can't imagine what I would have done without it.
The auto-redirects have been a life saver, for various reasons. :)
My only complaint might be regex documentation! (I commonly forget that the regexs through redirection are case-insensitive by default.) ;)
I used this for some simple 301 redirects after trying a few others. UI is very easy to use. Didn't try anything else but for 301s, I would recommend.
This is a plugin I automatically install on any new website.
I think this was one of my first plugins when I began using WordPress. It has worked quite well. This is one plugin that won't be leaving my active plugins any time soon!
I'm so glad that Yoast put me onto this plugin. Seems to do its job superbly. An essential tool.
Works like a charm and redirects quickly. I'm not sure how it's doing it but its instantaneous.
USUALLY when I hard code a wordpress redirect into the theme it hits the page, loads the code, then realizes it's being redirected, and starts loaded the new page and code.
WITH THIS PLUGIN it automatically seems to go to the new page link so it's a lot faster.
This plugin does what it's supposed to do right out of the box. I'm free from worries. It let's me sleep peacefully, knowing that whenever I do have to change a URL, both visitors and search engines will get to the new one.
Great & easy plugin to use. Needed this to do a redirect as my theme was unable to support other plugins. This worked great!
Get it, yo. Then donate 'cause dude put his heart and soul into this awesomely useful plugin.
