Redirection is a WordPress plugin to manage 301 redirections and keep track of 404 errors without requiring knowledge of Apache .htaccess files.
Does exactly what it says on the tin!
My site has about 400 404s. Every time I use the plugin, I get through about 15 or so. Then it sort of "freezes." And then my website goes down for about 10 minutes...The whole page goes white and there is a small message in the top left that reads "error." http://www.51blocks.com.
I'm an SEO specialist and I use the plugin on many clients websites...it's only on my website that this happens, but I'm not of the cause.
Neither WordPress, nor Apache modules are working: I cannot create a redirect, the Ajax request never completes; if I manually refresh the page, no redirect shows.
Can I download an older version somewhere?
in less than 2 minutes i setup different 301 redirect.
What about 404? Nice usability.
After the plugin discovered a 404 link in a click you can setup a redirect!
This plugin was very spiffy and looked great.
Unfortunately, it didn't work on some simple redirects. And all the spiffy GUI in the world can't fix that. So, one star.
It's very useful if you want to move an old website to wordpress.
Many thanks to the author!
One of my favorite plugins, very useful it should be built-in WordPress or jetpack.
It is the best plugin of its kind that I have found.
Thank you very much!
If I have to change a url of something in my WordPress website then it's good to know that this plugin has your back.
If Google Webmaster tools subsequently comes back and says it still cant find something then I do edit my .htaccess file directly for specific 301 redirect.
TOP TIP: Most browsers, once they have redirected incorrectly once - need all their data cache deleting in order for the working 301 redirect to work. I had a nightmare trying to fix 301s in Chrome until I figured this out!!!
