Star Rating System for WordPress - the most beautiful & user-freindly Thumb & Star ratings for WordPress.
This plugin could be awesome, but the idea behind it makes it fail.
Well-coded, very customizable, SEO-friendly with Schema.org - however there is one big problem: As a plugin user, you lose the rights to do anything you want with your content. All ratings are stored on a server run by the business behind this plugin - instead of storing them in your own WordPress database. Imagine the business fails or something else could happen - you would lose all your ratings as you would have no way importing them into another rating plugin. They have the power to do what they want with it. While this is basically the way to go for today's social networks, I am completely against this approach in terms of WordPress.
In my opinion it is perfectly fine to provide commercial plugins for WordPress, and it is also fine to regularly check the user's license. But practically owning the user's website's data (or parts of it) is a no-go. That's why I can only give this plugin a single star.
This is a great plugin, but the reason I gave 4 stars is that it has sometimes not been working consistently, for about a week. The support people helped. I felt confident it would be working again. It turned out to be a caching issue which appears to be resolved. I expect it to continue working in the future, just as it has in the past.
We use this plugin our wp news site. Easy, fast and nice desing. And the support is AMAZING :)
They are collecting your data and hosting it on their server.
Stay clear. "free" is version is a joke.
I don't like giving poor ratings and perhaps I'll consider revising mine. But here is why I rated this plugin poorly.
I don't like being fooled into giving away my email address and if you're going to price a plugin by the month and also make it very difficult to use in free mode, you should be providing full disclosure.
In order to just try out this plugin you have to agree to send them your email address to "activate." The live preview isn't actually a live preview because it would need to show you the branding that is inserted in EVERY rating on your website along with a backlink. If I had seen that, there isn't any way I would have bothered with the free version and never would have sent an email address which, fortunately is bogus because something didn't ring right with me.
Now I read the reviews and people are talking about purchasing the premium widget. You have to purchase a monthly subscription just to use the widget. So if you use it for just a few months, you'll find yourself paying perhaps $50. One MONTH is $9. So if you don't realize it, you'll rack up a bill for $108 per year for usage, unless you pay in advance. And if you choose not to use it, I don't see any way to export all the ratings you had using the widget.

Amazing widget and excellent support.
Tried the free version which was great but then upgraded to premium to take advantage of the bbpress ratings to increase user activity and it has already really enhanced our website.
Support fantastic for both free and premium version and Vova has been extremely patient for those of us who aren't too technically minded.
For once someone who actually seems to really care about his customers and the premium version is great value for money. Couldn't be happier.
In a nutshell: works!
And it comes with excellent support. We purchased the premium version (which we think is a square deal for the effort behind it) for our BuddyPress non-profit community site, and ran into some minor issues in turning from the free to the pro version.
Replay came very quickly after sending a help request, and it was easily solved by the maker of the plugin, plus some extra tweaks for us.
Summary: great plugin, both code and support could not be better.
And no, we are not in any way affiliated, just happy customers :-)
I rarely give poor ratings but this plugin is not good at all.
I checked this plugin and found that this slows down the website and then I decide to remove it but alas! it ruined the website after removing it,even tried to restore it so that website returns to normalcy which yielded no positive results.
