Shrink, beautify, track, manage and share any URL on or off of your WordPress website. Create links that look how you want using your own domain name!
Helps me keep things in order and neat. I can also track things! Great for affiliate links! It's also a great way to link to your social networks if you can't remember all the links :D LOVE IT!!!
This plugins makes my life easier..
Someone introduced me to this plugin a while back, and I thought, how good could a free plugin be? Let me tell you, it is the bomb! I don't build a site without this plugin as an indispensible part of my site structure.
A good example of where I have used this is on the site which is all about hair clippers, and in particular discusses the best hair clippers for black men

"Warning: This plugin puts banner ads on the WordPress dashboard."
"Warning: Banner ads are not loaded locally but served from the plugin maker's website."
Please add these warnings to the Description page for this plugin.
The first is common courtesy (get the user's consent to add banner ads to the general dashboard) and the second is a matter of privacy (by failing to load images locally your plugin is phoning home and allowing you to track user visits to their own dashboard).
For future reference, please note that both practices go against the Detailed Plugin Guidelines published by WordPress:
"7. No "phoning home" without user's informed consent. This seemingly simple rule actually covers several different aspects:
All images and scripts shown should be part of the plugin. These should be loaded locally. If the plugin does require that data is loaded from an external site (such as blocklists) this should be made clear in the plugin's admin screens or description. The point is that the user must be informed of what information is being sent where.
In general, things like banner or text link advertising should not be anywhere in a plugin, including on its settings screen... If the plugin does include advertising from a third party service, then it must default to completely disabled, in order to prevent tracking information from being collected from the user without their consent. This is the method commonly known as opt-in."
Thank you. Best Regards.
I use this plugin for so many different purposes from affiliate codes to my own book sales. I love the fact that it tracks clicks, and I create an unlimited number of pretty links to do split testing of links as well.
I use Pretty Link Pro and I couldn't be happier. I can easily update links, nofollow links, track hits with graphs, and group links into categories. I used to use Redirection plugin but this is leaps and bounds better.
I started using the WP Pretty Link plugin for my external cryptic links.
Rather than linking directly to, for example, my picasa photo albums I link to mysite.com/picasa/album5
and WP Pretty Links redirects it to the real url.
This way I can always update my Pretty Links without changing my website links.
Search engines won't collect my sensitive urls, I reduce 404s, and I can add a layer of privacy, in case I need users to first log-in.
Since I have been using Pretty Link, I have a nice links. No more ugly and scary long affiliate links. I'm considering the pro version, definitely as it has features I'm planning of using in the future.
This plugin is very well thought out and has all the bases covered. It is very useful for affiliate marketing on your site.
Highly recommended to get the Pro version, which really rocks!
I use it for redirects
