A simple way to change a post's type in WordPress
Worked like a charm. Be kinda nice when switching from Page to Post if it could null post_parent (aka, I forgot to do that at first). Or maybe just a suggestion to user to set (No Parent) when switching from any hierarchical post-type.
Thanks so much for this tool. Where's the Donate link so I can send a few $emolians,
Super handy - thanks!
When updating WooCommerce Orders, the plugin automatically—and without permission—switches the post type from 'shop_order' to 'post'. Had to go into phpMyAdmin to change them back.
had to create a whole bunch of categories but this plugin saved me hours
This works great!
This plugin is sooo useful. I use it all the time when I'm developing new post types, moving existing post types around, etc... I love that it works with pages too. This saved me a lot of finicky work I shutter to even think about.
Thank you John (and Matthew)!
It works as advertised, but I'm concerned that this plugin is no longer updated (last updated December 2012). Case in point: I faced the problem described in this thread: wordpress.org/support/topic/quick-edit-shows-multiple-post-type-drop-downs. Although someone provided code that fixes the bug, the plugin author hasn't cared to update the plugin. In any case, the problem is non-fatal, and I could use the plugin even without implementing the fix by setting all the combo boxes available (maybe just the last one would do, though).
Glad to say this awesome little utility ran perfectly in WP 3.8
Like a boss.
"Convert Post Types" completely deleted one of my post types, but Post Type Switcher worked fast and easily. Couldn't ask for more.
