Adds a Theme option to any active theme allowing you to make a child theme.
I could marry the genius who created this... muaaaaah!
This plugin works like a charm!
Tried making my own child-theme but did not seem to get working.
Then I found this plugin, and bang a child theme in a flash!
Keep up the good work!
It's easy and does the job 100%.
I noticed some of these reviews say that it throws an error after creating a child theme, but what I see is a simple "var_dump" of the array that got saved. There was no error for me.
Tried to create a child theme using the codex instructions and blew it several times. THIS plugin gave me the foundation I needed, then I copied the original theme files that I'd already modified over to the child theme folder and could update the original theme without losing anything.
Thank you to the plugin developer. I appreciate you greatly.
I used this back when I first started getting into child themes, before I really knew what I was doing. It is what it says: one click and you have a child theme. Very simple. Later than WordPress 3.2.1, it has thrown a weird error when I've created child themes, but despite that the child themes were successfully created.
I personally don't use this anymore because I can create child themes manually now, but if you're just getting started with child themes, this is a good one.
Despite the warning on top of the page saying.."this theme hasn't been updated in over 2 years..bla bla..", it worked like a charm with no fuss. I previously tried "Child Themify", and while its much newer, it never gave me the option of creating any child themes..! I highly recommend this plugin. If it worked for me, it will more than likely work for you.
Thank you developers..!!!!
I was hesitant to try it but as the site was not yet launched and I had backups, I did. The only 'problem' was that I had to click primary for the main menu and reset that. Took two seconds. Otherwise, everything worked fine. I was using Divi theme from elegantthemes.com in both cases. I then tried it on a website that uses Ciola theme, not a theme made by elegant themes. It worked there as well. I am using WordPress 3.8 on all my sites. So far I have created child themes for three of them without a hitch. Not a guarantee it will work on all themes but it worked on Divi AN AMAZING THEME and also on Ciola - Another amazing theme by a different company.
