A WordPress Bookstore Plugin to help authors create great looking book pages that rank well on Google.
I wish that the side bar widget was centered and gave me more options for title and description, but otherwise, it is a great plugin, particularly if you run a site where you promote your contributors. They use affiliate links, but it's a small price to pay for a great plugin.
This is a very nice plugin and easy to use.
They use their own Amazon affiliate code in the URL when the button is clicked so when someone buys a book I guess they get a small commission from Amazon?
If so, well it's a free plugin so I assume this is how they make it pay. Seems like a fair trade.
I've been looking for a book-store solution for a long time and tried out several different ones, but this is all you need.
The code is very clean and understandable, very easy to translate. The css file is also very clear written, thus easy to adapt to your own theme.
The support on this plug-in is even better. Haven't seen a plug-in developer respond that fast and accurate.
After reporting a bug, it was solved in just a couple of days. Great work.
All comments are also taken very seriously.

At this moment I've added over a hundred books, just love it !
I ran an online store for a long time, and it was cumbersome, because it was just a list of my products on one page. Then I found out about Mybooktable, when it was just going on kickstarter, and became a supporter. When the plugin first came out I ran my site on Thesis, it the two were not compatible. Now I have been on Genesis platform, and this plugin (I have the developer version) is a dream! Works great. Makes my store customer friends. Makes it easy to add and organize electronic products (I sell my own), and the customer service is great.
I highly recommend this plugin not only for those who sell affiliate products, but anyone with any digital product.
This plugin is something I've been waiting for as a writer. It makes adding new books so much easier and quicker!
The only problem I had turned out to be my own blindness (didn't see the "sort books" link up top to get my series in proper order on pages), and the creator responded superfast to my support request on that.
Plus, he was nice about my "d'oh!" moment. =)
I'm using it with Weaver II Pro, latest version. No issues.
Interesting that the developer raked in some five figures in 'donations' and then gave us a 'lite' version, requiring us to pay for the better options. Is that to pay the investors back, or just to pocket more cash? I have a hard time believing you are giving back to or supporting authors with this scheme. It's not that I don't believe folks shouldn't make a buck or two for their work, but taking in 12 grand (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/authormedia/mybooktable-wordpress-bookstore-plugin) as of April 2013 and giving back a stripped down version which asking for more to get a proper version is weak.
I gave you a three because the code is solid, for what it is. I suppose I can build on it to get the plug in I really need. Good luck with the double-dipping.
I have been an author for several years, and every time I redo my website it's a big hassle to figure out how to display my books together in a way that makes sense and looks good and lets readers drill down. I've tried so many things - galleries, drag and drop themes, and on and on, but nothing worked, or else I would have to use CSS and html code to get it to work for books.
I found this plugin when I was at the end of my rope and it works like a dream. I'm so thrilled! Also, the support is fabulous. I've always gotten questions answered within a day, often significantly sooner.
I love this plugin! I think it's great for authors and it would also work well for book bloggers, too.
Works well, easy to follow, proactive support and development
Yeahh you're right, but this really goes in the right direction to "present" your books to an audience.
Finding a decent plugin for displaying books seems like an exercise in futility. Almost every single one of them is missing crucial features.
MyBookTable is the latest and it seemed to show a lot of promise. Unfortunately, upon closer inspection, it's really no better than any of the others.
Support for series of books is a feature I've found extremely lacking in most of these plugins, so it's great to finally see one add it in. Also I like that I can specify genres the book falls in, as well as multiple authors. And all of these are linkable, so if someone wants to see other books within the series, or within the same genre, then all they have to do is click on the link and it will show them all the books that match those criteria.
But the benefits pretty much end there.
Unless you're a pro user or a developer, meaning you've paid for the plugin, you're limited to Amazon buy links only. Affiliate integration with Amazon doesn't work unless you're at the pro or developer level. So if you were hoping to link to Barnes & Noble, iBookstore, Kobo, and other online retailers, you'll need to cough up some cash. This is extremely disappointing, given that every other book plugin out there offers support for multiple buy links for free.
I might be willing to overlook the buy links or even purchase a pro license, if not for another huge problem: MyBookTable is extremely limited with the themes it supports. The only free themes it seems to work with are the uninspired WordPress themes and all other themes it works with need to be bought.
