Multi-column Tag Map can display a columnized and alphabetical (English) listing of all tags, categories, pages or single taxonomies used in your site
Works fine with no problems on 3.6.1 and full support for Russian language, thanks! Example: http://simpatria.com/alfavitnyj-ukazatel
How to list only woocommerce products tags and page tags
I've used this plugin to create an index of tags from one specific category of posts only. Very happy with it.
It can be viewed at http://kimmagedsc.ie/dissertation-abstracts/ and I'm using the Graphene theme.
Very natural for those of us who have ever read a old fashioned paper book. But powerful enough to create all kinds of different automatically maintained indexed lists that you can embed easily with shortcodes. Thank You!
Lots of features (that you really want!) and an alternative way to list tags.
I needed the ability to show tags of other taxonomies, and given that my site has over thousand tags the tag cloud just did not do the trick. This plug-in shows them in columns and that was exactly what I needed!
The only issue I would have is that it takes a little to load (seconds on a fairly well loaded - but not overloaded - ISP), but that's what caching is for! (After all 1000+ tags isn't just a handful :o)
Though I find the different displays to be a tad quirky, the basic display works nicely and your options are plentiful. Sure to become a favorite.
MCTM basically creates a back of book-type index of your tags. Super quick to setup. I usually put it on a page somewhere at full width and call the page BY TOPIC or BROWSE BY SUBJECT. It's a small thing to add but acts to add a not inconsiderable function to your site.
Love this. Saw this (or something similar) on another blog and tried to find it. I hate tag clouds, and this method is way better...as an index like a book is what helps people find the content THEY want, not what others viewed the most of. Works great, and is responsive enough for a responsive theme (it scales...but you still have spacing between letters if there is blank space...not a big deal though for mobile).
