The MailChimp plugin allows you to quickly and easily add a signup form for your MailChimp list.
Tried setting this up on 3 separate sites and all seem to fail to authenticate via oauth even though no errors are shown. just reloads to the same settings page.
This plugin leaves much to be desired. It's frustrating and buggy (particularly in the connection between WordPress and MailChimp). Styling the signup form is difficult and the instructions are misleading.
I love MailChimp and use it every day. I hope they revisit this plugin soon.
The update caused my sign-up form to completely disappear. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the update twice now, clearing out my browser caches each time. WordPress.org dashboard tells me that it's installed, but doesn't give me any sort of form to fill out to connect with my Mailchimp account, so there's no info for WordPress to import, and therefore no form. I'm not a techie, so I have no idea what to do at this point, but I'm not happy that people are going to my website and I have no way to capture their email addresses.
[ Moderator note: I've edited your comments, let's watch the language alright? ]
"Upload the whole directory"? Really? How the QUACK do you do that? I've been watching videos on how to do that with Filezilla to NO AVAIL. Why can't we use html code and copy and past it into a widget? You didn't think of that? Oh well. I guess I can't use your forms on my website. Maybe I'll try Aweber. Sorry QUACKS.
While it can connect to your mailchimp form and does display it, the formatting is awful. It looks terrible, has no configuration options to repair the formatting either.
It also ignores the format of the fields you select in Mailchimp. For example, the birthday field if selected in mailchimp as dd/mm displays as mm/dd in this plugin. The address field acts like an american address field and does not allow postcodes longer than 5 characters.
In addition, it won't work in a modal.
So as others have said, it sort of works but is pretty much useless.
Because i clicked that it didnt work...
one example of the major styling problems this plugin has: the fragments of text in the fone number field should have a span or something around them - they don't so they were impossible to target in relation the the form fields for the phone number.
the list goes on. total waste of time.
