Security against brute force attacks by tracking IP, name, password; requiring very strong passwords. Idle timeout. Maintenance mode lockdown.
@convissor really good job. I'm sure you put a lot of afford to make this project happen. As a developer I can tell that you have really solid dev background and a lot of experience.
Keep doing the good job and good luck with future development!
I has catched and banned any dictionary attack to my site.
It does not report the entire IP address (I don'w know why), but still an essential plugin.
I feel secure with this thing running on the background. Had some 125 attempt attacks. Although the IP was not clearly listed. showed only first 3 sections.
Easy & fast to install and functions as described.
I think it works quite well. But I do require at least 13chars for passwords and did require all users to change their password once it was installed. I use the authors recommended settings in most other instances.
The plug in is very well written. Highly recommended.
Works As Advertised
Yesterday your plugin successfully repelled a brute force attack (many thanks!)
After realizing that the wanna be hacker wasn’t going to let this one go I had to use Stealth Login Page to redirect him to a twitter page I had set up just to ask wtf was going on.
The only thing was that the IP address I got in my mail was too short (213.74.108)
That would really scarred the kitty straight if he had seen
“wtf 213.74.108… it’s Saturday! hacking hours from Monday to Friday 8:30 – 17:30”
Seems to work- I get logged out if I'm idle for 15 minutes so I know it's doing it's stuff and it checks the passwords are strong.
Repelled 3 hours of brute force attacks on my site.
... I'm still missing some features like to be able to customize the send out messages and an option to just request a password change for a single user (but maybe I missed this how it would work).
