Like it alot, except for...
By , for WP 3.6.1

It's great, it just has trouble if your post has an embedded video.

If it could use alt text or just post something like "embedded video" that would fix it.

right now it looks like javascript excerpts.

Example at:

works really great, with nice set of options
By , for WP 3.5.1

The only feature i miss was an option to exclude subcategories from listing.
But even for this i found an easy workarround, by just adding the same id twice with a plus sign:
Example: [catlist id=1+1]

Poor Documentation, Good plugin
By , for WP 3.5.1

If you say thumbnail=yes you should also add parameter thumbnail_size=xxxx. Otherwise thumbnails won't show.
Put more examples to docs.

way too many php notices (fixed)
By , for WP 3.4.2

This does work, but...
If you turn on your debug, and log them , you will find about 100 php notices for every page load, all pointing at this plugin. There are some issues with the coding style of this plugin.
Note to developer: turn on your debug by adding this to your config file and have a look:

define('WP_DEBUG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', true);
define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', true);
@ini_set('display_errors', 0);

edit - see following posts.
