This plugin still works as expected ( May 1, 2013 ). It is EASLIY extendable to support custom taxonomies and really any dataset that you might need. I am very impressed with the structure and quality of this plugin.

Allows you to add your own controllers, methods etc without modifying plugin source code. Extends the CMS ability of wordpress into the world of single page html5/js apps. Pretty amazing. Not sure I'll build another wordpress site without it.

Allows you to only get the WP services you need, meaning you have more finite control over app performance, caching, and load. A huge win for high volume sites on low-budget hosting plans.

This opens up a lot of doors for making small dedicated delimited wrappers for any type of content on a wordpress instance.

We made our (so far) slim knowledge base read from WP via this plugin and now we can use one WP instance as a content platform for any need.

dint access the entire API untill now.

Works pretty good, but 'create_post' functionality is useless without the changes introduced in this fork: https://github.com/Achillefs/wp-json-api
