Using this since long, works good..
I would like more controls, but the plug and play easy-ness is awesome. Results are somewhat hard to evaluate. That said, it provides a bunch of useful tools, especially the comments and notifications.
I think there may be better plugins for control over every feature aspect contained within jetpack, but I just love that's so plug and play. Truth is I find it hard to evaluate performance because some of the outcomes are relatively challenging to track. If it's doing what it says though it's solid.
First of all, thank you for the plugin.
I have some ideas/requirements that would like to talk about.
1 - The comments module is great, but has an important limitation: it is not possible to post comments to social networks. for instance, if a user is logged in wiht facebook, I would expect the user to be able to check an option near the post button to post to facebook. the same for tweeter... etc.
2 - Also, the sharing buttons has a facebook button, but this button seems to be only a like button. Shouldnt we have also a button to post to facebook?
3 - The post made by the comments button should be ajax in order to avoid a page load in each comment.
4 - It would be nice to have widgets to put tweet and facebook feeds in the site (and set the pages where they should appear). I think the package doesnt have this.
Are any of these in your queue?
I love this plugin. It's useful but a little difficult to use.
This is a big mix of totally different functionality. Maybe it would be better to keep the features as separate plugins.
I really like Jetpack, but find with some popular themes it develops a few problems and I end up having to disable some of the features. But overall this is a great plugin.
Love the selection of tools. I advise disabling all and then enabling only the ones you want, since there may be tools enabled by default that you don't want.
I had problems with the Custom CSS tool, even when there was no custom CSS in it. It was killing my post/page load times, taking as much as 4-5 seconds just to load the custom-css file, as determined by Google Developer Tools in Chrome. Disabling the feature and putting my custom CSS in the styles.css file of my theme solved the problem.
Update the plugin within the website. Got stuck with a hanging update page. After removing the .maintenance file on the FTP i got access to the site again. The plugin was updated, but the website is broken for a moment. So please beware after updating.
This is an awesome plugin, with lots of features. Although I would recommend you to disable modules which you wouldn't like to use, so that this plugin doesn't slow down your site.
