Supercharge your WordPress site with powerful features previously only available to WordPress.com users.
I recently changed my blog to self-hosted blog. I installed this plugin which have everything i need, from mobile site to feed and what not.
Wonderful tool. Runs perfectly.
Overbloat and lots of modules are auto activated. This is bad practice!
Also, privacy issues, i18n issues, WordPress.com connection makes no sense for most of its modules and brings in more issues.
Not a recommended plugin. Automattic should do better. Really better!
Jetpack doesn't work, don't waste your time with it!
I, and many others, thread reference http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-jetpack-site_inaccessible-1?replies=20 that btw has been CLOSED now,
keep getting "site inaccessible" errors trying to use this, even on a brand NEW wordpress install with 0 other plugins installed. When you ask for help from wordpress.com help, their tech support won't give you a straight answer as to HOW to fix this problem! basically all they say is "your server configuration is broken, have your web service provider fix it" which how are they supposed to do that when my web host doesn't even understand what the problem is or how to fix it either!!
don't waste your time with this plugin, its broken, and tech support are jerks about it offering no solutions at all except to insult peoples chosen hosting providers.
Simply the perfect plugin to make the first steps moving from wordpress.com to wordpress.org a little easier.
I use this plugin
Would be much more useful and help me trust it more if it 1) had everything disabled by default and allowed me to only enable modules that I wanted to use. Make it as slim and light as possible, then install those add-ons when users want them. And 2) if it didn't require WordPress.com authentication. Many "modules" have no need of wp.com authentication. Why not let us use those without authentication?
I appreciate Automattic offering some WordPress.com features for free, but it seems like something of a data-grab combined with an attempt to bolster WordPress.com usership. Sorry, but I don't use my WordPress.com account for anything really.... Make it useful and easy to me first, then offer me incentives to use/integrate it in my sites. Don't try to force me to use it with incentives and enticements when there was no real previous reason.
I was bit confused if I want to activate this plugin as lot of functionality do come up in a single package...which can load up the server. Also there are mix reviews of this plugin.
Once I thought I must check it once...and if it does not work will deactivate it on the next go.
But I love this plugin...it added a new gallery, comments are charged up and the speed of loading the site is pretty same.
and about privacy...I don't care as I have created my personal account at wp.com which is served by my site.
Thank You WordPress Team for such a great plugin.
