This plugin works great on some of the pages of my sites.
The support for this plugin is non-existent. 0/9 threads have been resolved in the last month. I posted my error last week, and no one has responded.
I'm in the market for finding another one ASAP.
Rating 5/5 for the features, but unwillingness about connection to the server http://www.hupso.com/
- After testing the major plug-in social network share buttons,
I found this one which is exactly what I was looking.
- It is easy to implement and allows the choice of the French language for buttons.
- You do not need to open any account to use it.
- What you need to know, disadvantage (excerpt text from readme.txt) :
-> See about that, the good explained response of the author
- I finally abandoned all plugin social sharing buttons.
I use to Pages, "pinboard_social_bookmarks" function already implemented for items in wordpress theme pinboard.
- Note : I had changed the following CSS in the WordPress Theme so that the window button "Like" appears on the footer :
position: static; /* instead of relative */
As others mentioned before, the plugin redirects through its own website.
As said by others, there's no reason for this plugin to call home
Have been using this plugin for a long time and despite some of the negative comments about the call to home this is still the best share plugin out there.
Looks great on the website and works perfectly. The author is really supportive too and actively works to resolve all issues unlike many who just do not even bother to respond. Have to agree with mattrock1 "No 3rd-party subscriptions required, with lots of settings and configuration options". Setting up social sharing comes with many issues and having tried and tested many of the other WP social share plugins really believe you cannot get a better plugin than this.
This plugin hosed my Facebook Publisher plugin and it adds a link to its own web page on each one of my posts. If I wanted something to add links back to itself against my will I would just go out and get a virus. I uninstalled the plugin and my Facebook plugin is still broken. Do not even try it, you will be sorry you did!
I am so embarrassed. Insisted that I had share buttons because I could see them. Others said I didn't. I finally logged out of my WordPress and checked that way. I then went to another browser. Then I found out, there were NO icons on my home page. I liked this plugin but this plugin gave me unrealistic hope.
There is absolutely zero reason this plugin should be calling home, it inserts hidden links on all pages it is used.
Just started to use this plugin and I'm really pleased with it. It does the job and looks really good on my website
FAQ mentions NOTHING about the hidden "call to home". Not cool at all.
Removed and deleted for good.
