Quickly and easily build forms with a simple drag-and-drop interface and in-place editing.
Formidable is awesome and robust but may have a high learning curve. I have used it for really incredible purposes like submitting real estate listings through a form, tracking customer orders (CRM), mobile app trouble tickets, contact forms, page and post creation, etc...
What I will say that can be challenging, is that the updates may change functionality (usually for the better).
What you can do with this plugin is amazing, and you can literally be a designer that builds web apps because of this plugin.
The warning from the first sentence is that YES this plugin does an unlimited amount of things, but it also DOES TAKE A LOT OF LEARNING. So stop being afraid to learn new things, and realize that people like Strategy 11 have gone to extreme lengths to empower non-developers!
Benefits of this plugin with Pro account: unlimited installs, unlimited upgrades, unlimited support.
Drawbacks: difficult to roll back to previous versions, high learning curve to learn how to completely use it.
Forget the drawbacks! Get on it and grab this plugin in the Pro version and get to realizing what you web designers can do in terms of functionality with a website!
Support is excellent too, very very responsive and incredibly helpful. The plugin does have a learning curve so it helps to have some technical knowledge. Resources on the developer's site are being added all the time to make it easier. This forms solution is super powerful and the product is a super value.
Developer version is worth every penny. This is one of the plugins I use on pretty much every one of the sites I administer. It's super easy for end users to manage forms, and provides pretty much every option you can imagine for online forms processing.
This is a fantastic plugin.
I was looking for a form management plugin and as many have came across Gravity Forms first. After having played with GravityForms for a bit I was surprised when I found out that it did not allow for the front-end editing of submissions.
I looked at a range of alternatives on code canyon.com but eventually settled on FormidablePro.
FormidablePro offers front-end editing, it works with custom post types and the support is fantastic. I am completely amazed at how the small team at Formidable Pro spend so much time assisting their users, even looking at the code and helping to identify errors.
Anyway, great plugin and amazing service.
I love this plugin, purchased the pro version after a very short time of using the free version. Lifetime updates and nice and cheap!
Does some really sophisticated stuff really easily and stores everything to the database for export, exactly what I was looking for.
Doesn't have the fancy marketing campaign Gravity Forms has, but then it's a fraction of the price for the majority of the functionality.
Though not quite as user friendly in the conditional logic department it is much cheaper and integrates with the site much better than just embedding an adobe form. Also since a number of "i" devices have had trouble with adobe forms it will be interesting to see if this allows a greater number of users access to our forms.
I needed some support on a format issue and the response from email was quick, solved my problem AND even solved another problem I didn't have since they looked at my form before answering and saw something else I needed help on. I wouldn't have had the issue at all with Adobe but then again I was paying 10x as much for something that didn't work on all devices. I feel Formidable was an upgrade.
I have been searching for several years for a plugin that enabled WordPress to be used to create, store and display customer data. There were a few solutions that did part of the job, but none that got it done completely.
Then I find Formidable Forms and I hit the jackpot!
This plugin not only provides simple forms (as do many other plugins), but it adds the ability to store the data they collect; edit it; import/export it; display it in WP posts/pages/widgets; show statistics for it and much more.
So at a stroke, by using FF you can use it to turn WP into a sophisticated data entry and reporting system, without being a database expert.
I've purchased FF Pro and I've been very impressed with its functionality, documentation and usability.
I can't recommend this plugin enough - congratulations to the developers (Stephanie & Steve) on a magnificent achievement.
Using the pro version. Very powerful. Great support!
I use the free version all the time. You don't need the purchased version to customize the form how you want it. Here are some things for customization that I found and that I use every time.
Edit the plug in formidable/css/frm_display.css
add the follwing code to change the font color and style of the labels
you can use any color but for me since I have a light grey background I had to use a dark grey for the labels to see them better.
Also you can add table coding under the formidable / settings / customize HTML.
I added the following in the first box
<table width="700" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" style="border:none"><tr><td style="border:none">
and in each box after that just make sure you end with the usual tags to get the structure you are looking for.
Love this plugin.
