FeedWordPress is an Atom/RSS aggregator for WordPress. It syndicates content from feeds that you choose into your WordPress weblog; the content it syn
Made it quite easy to move posts from another CMS through the old site's RSS feed.
Coupled with http://wordpress.org/plugins/import-external-images/, it made for an easy operation.
One obstacle that I ran into was missing imported posts.
Simply boosted the execution time in my php.ini and was all set.
I just wish that I had some sort of notification that it wasn't importing everything (a default "importing post xx of yy counter would be great).
I know there's an option in the debug settings.. Unfortunately, turning on debugging yielded so many rows of warnings that most of the admin main menu was shifted off-screen.
the plugin is very very good
i think that we need a new release my suggestions for it is :
1-the plugin worked good with
php 5.3 but it deprecated now the plugin have a lot of errors with
php 5.4 so we need to get it work with 5.4
2- when i use the plugin to capture the images & insert it as post thumbnail the plugin reinsert the same image in the content in <img> tag so we need to capture the image & insert it as post thumb without inserting it in the content again
3- alot of scheduled posts with no reasons, the plugin syndicated all posts in the feeds but some of the posts not published marked as scheduled for no reason we need to publish all posts
4- capturing images is the last step after syndicate all posts when i update via cronjob or manuel updates the plugin first considering the posts then insert all of it the "if have time before timeout capuring all images, i think that we need to consider one item then insert it then capture the images of it, then go to the next posts & do the same
i hope that this suggestion help thanks for the perfect plugin
Thanks, RadGeek for this plugin and also for maintaining it all these years. Your response to users concern about th last update shows how dedicated you are to this even when most pays nothing for it.
We are grateful!
When this plugin works, it is perfect! Unfortunately, it randomly gives an error ("Feed error: The data could not be converted to UTF-8. You MUST have either the iconv or mbstring extension installed. Upgrading to PHP 5.x (which includes iconv) is highly recommended.") The only way I've found to reliably fix this is to change the source feed to only giving partial feeds, instead of the entire content.
The best: Many options to have a custom feed.
The worse: All garbage data stored in the table of added wp_postmeta ('syndication_permalink','syndication_source_uri', etc). It has to be optional.
