Add Facebook social plugins and the ability to publish new posts to a Facebook Timeline or Facebook Page. Official Facebook plugin.
I write PHP, HTML, CSS etc and build my own websites from scratch. This plugin is ridiculously over complex for what it does. Even simple tasks like posting articles to facebook profiles is horrendously over complicated - when, in fact, it's as simple as passing the RSS feed from the blog to facebook.
As others have pointed out, there is no documentation or anything to guide people. It merely says "you have to do X to continue".. you get to the facebook section, open graph, app API etc and are just hit with a wall of options and settings with no explanation as to what they do or how they work.
If you're just looking to post from your blog to your facebook. Lookup the RSS Grafitti app on the facebook site. Easy as; feed url, how often, which page is it going on. Done.
I just can't get why does this plugin have so many negative votes!
If you don't know how to prepare an Facebook Application, you'll have to learn it and yes it maybe will take you some time... But hey... This is not this plugin fault!
I had my facebook applications already working, so this was really just 2 minutes and running!
I Facebok plugin installed. But Facebook is not valid w3c code. What can I do about it, how to fix errors?
<meta property="og:site_name" ...
<fb:comments-count xmlns=" ...
element "fb:comments-count" undefined ..
I just spend 2 hours trying to get this to work. The aim was to publish from wp into my facebook page. 2 hours fiddling with facebook api settings and opengraph crap ... I abandoned and installed jetpack and after 3 clicks got it working. WTF.
too complicated, bad design
i didn't succeed to connect... :(
and use Jetpack

Literally unable to register app with Facebook. There is no there there.
Exactly as useful and elegant as a wart.
It's great to have social interaction on your website until you update the plugin and the comment box disappears. Did anyone at Facebook test this before rolling it out? I thought this product was great until the update. Now where is the support?
You know this is a good plugin - in principal, but it is beset with issues.
First of all the lack of documentation to help people, especially those who may not be tech savvy or familiar with Facebook jargon. This sadly also then goes onto the support - support is a regurgitation of changelogs and full of tech speak and assumptions things have been resolved just because support has answered.
My first issue with this plugin and consequently first call for support saw the support tell me to read the changelog and click the topic to resolved - this is not acceptable as support and also quite telling - there is an assumption that you've been "stoopid" and not read the documentation.
I think FB need to look at this plugin and properly test updates before they go out. They also need to work better with the WordPress repository as comments are now owned by FB and should something go wrong, the client/user looses their comments.
FB, need to also look at their documentation. It claims a simple out of the box set-up but it is anything but.
FB also need to look at their support - I am not saying the person is bad just the way they look at support issues and their subsequent answers and quick resolved ticking are not helping. The assumption that everyone speaks the same tech-speak as them is also not helpful.
I'm giving it a three because as I said in principal its good - things just need looking into.
