This great Encyclopedia Lite plugin enables you to create an awesome Encyclopedia, Lexicon, Glossary, Wiki, Dictionary or Knowledge Base!
As others have noted, this plugin really pushes the limits by calling itself "free". It's not like anyone can really use the lite version on a site. The developer should either rethink what is being offered, or WP should disallow this in their plug-in repository.
I purchased the Pro Version and received a download link, username and password. Great, except the link has no place to enter username and password. I didn't pay for the additional support but you'd think that at least they would answer this one question. No response...at all. I will be reporting this to WordPress and Paypal.
.. only 5 terms allowed?!
You can only create 5 terms on the lite version - this is basically a way to get you to purchase the pro version, which is not in the description and misleading. I would not have bothered installing at all had I know this. How many people need a plugin for 5 terms?????
This download is the large version, which only allows for 5 entries. You're invited to download the "pro" version. I only noticed this once it was installed. I'm moving on.
Great PlugIn, thanks for that.
I use the Pro version and am happy with everything - specially the internal linking.
The only option I miss is to exclude headlines from being internal linked. Maybe there's a way to integrate it to the next version?
Got the pro version. It does what it's supposed to do very well. If you need a glossary/lexicon/terms whatever, that then automatically creates links throughout your website, you'll enjoy it.
I only have one issue for now. If you have compound terms (terms with more than one word) and a similar one word term, the links created throughout the text will only pick up the first term. So, if you have "merry" and "merry christmas" as terms. Throughout your posts, pages and wherever else you tell Encyclopedia to make links automatically, if you put "merry christmas" in first, then the plugin will only highlight and link "merry" even though you wanted "merry christmas". In short, there is not way to force the plugin to take compound names over single terms.
Other than that, I'm really pleased.
Lite version only allows 5 entries... waste of time
Excellent way to organize product libraries, industry terms, preferred suppliers and the like. Create the description once and use it in as many categories as apply. Showing links to similar terms (in this case other suppliers) is supremely helpful. Thanks Dennis for your hard work.
