Easily send emails from your WordPress blog using your preferred SMTP server
I'm running WP on a ubuntu cloud server and had been trying to install a postfix/dovecot server for over a week with no success (Actually crashed the server several times) I finally gave up and went to hosted email with another provider. I was looking on the web for how to setup sendmail as outgoing only for WordPress when I saw this plugin in a Google search. It really sounded too good to be true. Usually when I find a plugin, it does "almost" what i need, then I end up deleting it. Boy was I surprised! This plugin does what it says on the tin! It took me 5 minutes to get email working for outgoing system messages, and that includes making a dedicated email address on the hosted email system.
I Can't thank you enough for this program! It took me 5 minutes to solve a problem I was working on for over a week. This should be in WordPress core!
As said in the title: no more problems with my server email software.
Hosting providers sometimes haven't trusted by Google own domains, and using this plugin helps your letters to subscribers to be non-fishing.
One security issue - all letters, including login and passwords reminders are placed into your Gmail "Sent" folder.
Good but hope you can make it MU support
1. Select whether it is a site wide settings. If so, Menu only appear on network Dashboard
2. If not, Enable each site Settings Menu
I use only this plugin in my sites for SMTP.
I have been desperately trying to get the Subscribe to Comments Reloaded plugin to work, so I don't have to email my responses to commenters by hand. I could not figure out why my commenters weren't receiving the notifications they subscribed to. Someone on a forum recommended a different plugin like this one; I chose this because it seems to be getting recent updates. It works great! Finally my readers are getting the notifications they subscribe to. Thank you!
I was having an issue with some mail providers rejecting the IP address of my VPS, and even though I could trouble shoot and resolve via DNS & SPF I chose to try this plugin.
Activated it, entered server credentials and BOOM - it worked right away.
Thanks for the great plugin!!!
I'm using WordPress 3.6 and Contact Form 7.

Was having trouble getting my local dev environment to send mail so I set this up to use Zoho Mail's SMTP server and it worked as expected right away.
So glad to see someone has provided this again.... thanks so much.
Easy install, works like a charm.
