The best WordPress gallery plugin enables you to create photo gallery or portfolio. Over 192,500+ sites are already using Easy Media Gallery.
I searched for days for the perfect gallery to use for my website as I am a professional photographer. I found EMG and dont bother looking at any others now. Its very easy to use
1. create a new media album
2. upload the images
3. in your post or page just click the icon and add the album
4. easy and looks great
Love the social media integration on each of the images too.
I also had an issue with the plug in working properly on a https version of the site and was able to get it resolved the next day.
I had awesome almost immediate support for this plugin and they fixed the problem straight away!!
Very happy finally have a gallery plugin that does what i want. tried so many!
I have set up a simple gallery display of videos and still images for a high school film festival site. I find that the gallery and light-box works OK for most "common" JPG/PNG or MP4 files, but there seems to a number of problem cases. It seems if the images are greater than 2000 pixels on a side or 10 inches, the display does not work. On video, there seem to be some versions of MP4 output that will not display video but will output audio - playing the same file thru the media library works properly.
In addition the plug-in won't do any automatic sorting of the galleries - it's all manual.
One other negative is that the still display size is determined by the settings - it will not re-size if the image is larger than the screen.
But I have made it work, it's just not a very robust and complete program. However it is one of the few that does both still images and local video support.
My worst complaint however is that there seems to be absolutely no technical support. I have sent in 3 requests on the above issues and have not gotten one response! I might be able to live with the above issues but with the their state of support I am looking elsewhere.
Not being too much of a techie, It doesn't take too much to daunt me.
I had a couple of hard (for me) challenges to work out when I first got the plugin a few days ago. The support folks got right back to me when I submitted a ticket. I mean RIGHT BACK to me.
They helped me resolve my issues quickly without making me feel dumb.
Now I am creating galleries like there's no tomorrow. This is a powerful plugin and easy to use ---
Ok, I was a little doubtfull about this plugin as when I installed it it was buggy. Well, it was due to a plugin conflict with WPML, fixed within two hours by the support team after I sent them a mail (on sunday 0_°).
Maybe because I'm on pro version, I don't know, but great job !
$24 is nothing for a great plugin with this kind of support. I had an issue and they fixed it. Then sent me a screenshot to help me understand what happened. Amazing.
Seems very professional and well built.
No issues at all. Just install, watch their 90-second vid and you're away.
I have just upgraded to the current version of Easy-Media-Gallery. While I normally have no problem bringing my WordPress Plug-ins up to date, I was a little pressed for time today.
The good folks at Ghozy Labs were on to it in a flash and had me up and going within minutes.
Great software and excellent, friendly help.
I've been holding back on this review until the support team got back to me. Now they have, I can give a full account.
I tried out the free version which seemed to do as I wanted, so I then upgraded to the pro version, which announces more features, and more importantly for what I needed, multiple pictures within a grid gallery.
I had nothing but problems with this new version, Ghozi Labs saying that I must deactivate one of my paying clients' favourite features for their gallery to work.
When I announced that this was impossible, they said that there was a 'work around' if I were to grant admin access to my website.
After noticing that they had indeed logged in and nothing had been done, I revoked the account after their office closing hours and wrote to them again today, saying that as a work-around had not been found, could I have a refund?
I received the following reply:
"This issue because the following conflict:
conflict with your theme where it load jQuery script outside from wordpress.
jQuery library and its not recommended by wordpress.
With details above, we cannot refund your money."
So from that, we can see that even though the free version worked fine, an upgrade to the paid version will quite possibly leave you with a piece of junk if you have any other plugins installed.
Hey, I'm not devastated at losing $24 to Ghozi Labs, but I just thought that people should be made aware of the type of company that they might end up dealing with.
Easy as it claims and lets you create a really nice photo galary, it was perfect for my needs and had everything I needed in the free version.
