Dynamic Widgets gives you full control on which pages a widget will display. It lets you dynamicly show or hide widgets on WordPress pages.
I'm using "Testimonial Rotator" by Hal Gatewood. I needed different Testimonials on different pages representing different products.
This Dynamic Widget plugin has a settings option where you can see what widgets are in each area. Than you set whether a particular widget is static or dynamic.
So my right sidebar has several testimonial widgets representing different rotators. You select each dynamic widget and tell it which pages to display it on.
Awesome! This certainly beats having to create separate page templates and is theme independent!
I donated to the cause!
This is the 2nd plugin of its type that didn't work for me. I'm beginning to think this is a 3.6 problem. I've wasted enough time, I'm coding my own solution. Hope it works for you if you decide to use it.
Does just what I need AND more. I'm also using a theme with all kinds of custom fields and even have custom sidebars, and this fine tool deals with all of them just as expected.
Works JUST LIKE ADVERTISED! And I'm using an extensive WP template with all kinds of custom sidebars, custom fields inserted into widgets, custom post_types with widgets inserted into the content area (via another plugin), and this fine tool is working perfectly!
After struggling with widget logic and widget logic by path, Dynamic widgets is a total winner
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
WORTH donating to such work!!.. very much appreciated!!
I love this. I need also dynamic-pages/posts plugin. Thanks
This plugin is very easy to use, thanks to a good interface, and it provides an incredible array of options. It's my new favorite plugin for controlling how widgets behave in sidebars.
Thanks very much,
after 2 weeks of hassle with coding i found this plugin, then another hour of hassle getting it to work in mu.. then the required function "user specific widgets" worked out of the box!!!
This plugin helped me a lot, thx :)
