This plugin allows WordPress to embed live real estate data from an MLS directly into a blog. You MUST have a dsIDXpress account to use this plugin.
Especially for a paid plugin, I expect a whole lot more. The default styling is horrid. I've spent hours and my theme designer has spent hours upon hours with CSS overrides trying to fix the styling to make it look better. I have the Pro version plugin that allows site visitors to save searches and favorites, but there is no page to link directly to, so they can't see what they've saved?!? Hunh?
Here is their customer support's response:
"I am afraid that at this time, Diverse Solutions does not offer the option you wish in regards to a link for previously registered users to login."
So yeah... you can register, but we can't give you a link to log back in...
I've been using this plugin for few years on my real estate site. The main problem is it spits out total duplicate content and the designers make it almost impossible for you to change that. Also if your not careful they have it set up so every listing on your site has a link to the same listing at Zillow! Talk about brilliant SEO for them. Just make sure you turn those links off. the positive is that it gets indexed great and you can get traffic off it if your site has a lot of authority.
I had a client purchase this plug-in (about $120 for "installation" - total ripoff, & another $50/month for the service) and it doesn't work with the WordPress site we have built.
First off, the activation code somehow gets erased about once a day which then completely erases any placeholder content in place via widgets or shortcode - so half the time someone visits the site any search forms from this plug-in are gone. We were told over a week ago this was due to GoDaddy's security settings and that they would install something to correct this problem as they have had people complain about it before... Well a week later it is still being erased and we have to manually re-enter the activation code everyday. Awesome.
Second, horrible customer service and SNAIL slow troubleshooting by their developers. In addition to the above issue the plug-in flat out doesn't work with our GoDaddy hosted WordPress site.
When the search forms aren't magically erased any attempted search comes up empty - and I'm talking even the most basic "Los Angeles" search. We submitted a support ticket & spoke with customer service May 19th, it is now May 30th. It takes days for them to replay to any email and when we call they give us the run around. Mind you these clients are paying for a monthly service they can't use.
They've had a fair chance to fix the issue or at least make it appear a priority. We are now requesting a refund and finding a different plug-in that can actually work. Save yourself the headache and DON'T purchase this service.
dsIDXpress is #1 for getting your site ranked well in search engines.
Don't listen to people about their Zillow paranoia: this is the easiest, best way to get your website ranked. You don't need to have any Zillow links on your site or anything like that.
Get this plugin. It's the best out there.
Owned by Zillow. So you support your competition with this plugin
Install this plugin if you want Zillow tracking your clients. I looked at the source code and IMHO opinion determined it's probably not a good idea to share your client's browsing experience with Zillow, no matter how they try to legitimize the reason. Support is horrible, if you can get it working. Had trouble with NGINX rewrites but soon fixed those for all of WordPress, this plugin still reported Permalinks were broken even after we fixed them. This is probably do to the issue @billsmithem pointed to.
This product is a waste of time, money and effort.
Developed the site using a free trial account, transitioned to live feed without a glitch. It's highly flexible, reliable and support has been outstanding.
This does not work properly when WordPress is installed in a subdirectory because they have hard coded paths rather than use the correct WP function calls to locate files/folders. When questioned about it, their director of software development stated that there were issues when the proper function calls were used, but then refused to elaborate (smoke and mirrors).
Later I located the several places where it was improperly coded, fixed them and then pointed out exactly what they had to do to fix the problem, receiving vague promises they'd look into it in the future.
This was several versions ago, they still have not fixed it.
This is the best IDX plugin I've come across for WordPress. Full integration into WordPress for strong SEO. A very good MLS (Client is in the South Florida Region)
