For me this helps turn WordPress into a really flexible CMS (not unlike Joomla) if used along with a condition widget plugin, you've have lots of flexibility about where widgets appear and what they contain, in a very user friendly way.

I use this plugin with almost every installation of WordPress. It provides such a great way for people to customize sidebar content without having to know HTML. It's clean and flexible. I love that it also has an easy shortcode button, so clients can style content in one place and use it repeatedly on their site in page and post content as well. I just made a $8.00 donation to the plugin. I have included it in the "Must Have Plugins" class I teach in Boulder, Colorado.

Main benefit of this plugin for me is that not only administrator, but also editor can easily add/edit rich text content in a widget...

This plugin works really well with WPML for multilingual sites. Instead of having to create separate sidebars (widget areas) for every language, just create content blocks using this plugin, and add that block to a sidebar using the included widget. The plugin automatically displays the correct language if the content block has been translated.
