Admin UI for creating custom post types and custom taxonomies in WordPress
easy to use plugin..thanks..
Keeps things simple. Easier than using a web-based generator or copypasta from previous projects.
Many solutions exist for registering custom post types (from doing it manually in code, to many other plugins both free and paid). This one is quick and easy, with the added bonus of also helping you register your own custom taxonomies for organizing existing and new post types.
Easy plugin to use!
A great tool, particularly for making the wordpress backend much more user friendly for folks who aren't comfortable with updating their own sites.
Would love to see some tutorials out there for folks who aren't familiar with writing their own php code.
A client of mine who doesn't know PHP was using this code. I spent hours debugging it, trying to figure out why there was 404 errors for my custom post type list pages (not the single). Finally I decided to get rid of the plugin. To save myself some time, I exported the code and added to the theme functions file. Upon doing so I found a few problems:
'rewrite' => array('slug' => '')
'rewrite' => array('slug' => 'post-type-slug','with_front' => false),
You also need to add a new option:
'has_archive' => true
These to me our a big flaw. You should be able to treat custom post types as posts and have an individual listing page. After adding these two items the 404 errors went away and I was able to use my custom archive-post-type.php file.
I hope this helps at least one person because I know I was very frustrated after wasting so much time trying to figure out what was wrong.
Any ideas on how to develop a custom real estate search form from Custom posts and taxonomies using your plugin? Thanks a lot.
I always use it while developing WordPress Plugins that works with Custom Posts and Taxonomies! I always use it create/manage Custom Posts in order to test my work!
Thanks for such a Plugin!
The interface is a little clunky, but it really speeds up production times.
Thanks for providing this work. It was really helpful.
I used to have a heavenly customized them for my book publishing company where I had to used one category as a workaround for a special post type. I was to lazy and also a bit scared (never change a running system) to create special post types and bypass my old ones to them.
With you plugin and another one to switch only post of a certain category to a new custom post type I was able to do this all in a few seconds.
