Custom 404, creates a 404 page that is set to the default one of your WordPress installation. This page is fully customizable from the dashboard.
It does work, but it's not customizable enough for my taste.
It IS possible to replace the image. I uploaded an image called 00.png with the same dimensions as the other ones (and transparent because it overlaps the right side of the website) with an FTP program to wp-content/plugins/custom-404-error-page-unlimited-designs-colors-and-fonts/custom_img so I could choose that one in the plugin, and on the frontend it did show my own image instead of the 'character'.
Apart from that I'm sorry that there are no more customization options, especially for the 'useful links section' because my site has no blog posts, just pages. So I would like to get rid of that part but I don't know PHP, so I'm not going to try and adjust the PHP files that control this, myself... :(
Besides I could not find where to set the language, but via FTP i saw that my language (Dutch) is not there anyway, so I'm going to find another solution than this plugin.
In the default options there is no way to get rid of certain elements from view. Like the very annoying image of some character that has to exist even if it doesn't go with the rest of the site, or the relevant post option in the 'useful' links section, if you've got not posts/post blog like content else where, it just sit there empty, looking like you've got nothing to say.
I'm willing to be wrong (really would like to be) but it's not as easy to fully customize as it reads in the description.
That said its easy enough to add links and change colors but, that seems like the minimum.
Just what I was looking for!
Plug loads, activates and options save, but 404 is still generic
Nice and very easy to use.
Be "very nice" if it fit into responsive themes. Will not resize and work on smaller screens. Maybe if it had custom CSS field?
