My categories were getting out of control! Thank you!
Clearly the number of downloads / crowd vote makes this plugin the winner. Not sure why I didn't see/catch it first amongst ones I tried, but I landed on this after trying out Hierarchical Pages, Category Posts in Custom Menu, and the AVH Extended Categories plug-ins -- these were all 'ok', but each had one or two critically missing features. (These other developers should join forces in supporting and perhaps tweaking this one up a bit.)
If you are looking for a plug-in that will:
Then this is the one. I was lucky in that what was presented fit what I wanted, so not 100% sure if some of this can be turned off -- can I suppress the expansion to individual post titles like I noted some of the other plug-ins did?
The only weakness I found, and I can work around it for now, is that it forces the display of a parent category, even when excluded or not included. Hence, cannot display (only) the siblings of a particular 'group' without a redundant single parent. Some sort of "Suppress parents(s) of selected categories" option would be helpful.
As well, I did notice the feature of enhanced presentation of post titles in other plug-ins. Styling could be tweaked a bit -- the Kubrik selection seemed to get closest for me, but looks a little clunky as to how/what is going on there.
Great plugin, thx a lot!
Well done! Thanx
The plugin worked really well. I fact did more than I wanted to! Tried to export category specific RSS struggled for sometime until I noticed functionality in the the plugin.
Also spent sometime trying to customize display for event manager and catablog plugins. Collapsing Categories plugin bailed me out in no time.
This is a unique (for what it does) plugin, very-very configurable.
It has saved my life because of a huge categories list.
Thanks for the work !!!
not working ie8 , ff crom working well
also collapsing archives plug in too.
All respect to the builder! Working for free, and making something that's so nice like this!!
