Love it. Now add the ability to create a quick screenshot and you're over the top!

Could hardly be easier

As a beginner to WordPress, I appreciated how painless this was. Thank you.

That was easy!
By , for WP 3.5.2

Simple and effective. Bravo!

A nice touch would be to be able to add optional info, like description, author, url, etc. - but it still gets 5 stars!

Easy as 1, 2, 3...
By , for WP 3.5.1

Once installed...

1. Click, Create a child theme under the theme you want a child theme for in Appearance > Themes
2. Give your new child theme a name
3. Click, Let's Go!

A folder is added to the WordPress themes folder with a css file in it containing the necessary wording for a child theme, and your new child theme is now included in the Appearance > Themes section.

Thank you, John P. Bloch!

Great Idea...
By , for WP 3.5.1

Do we really NEED to have a plugin? Not really but it is so much easier to not have to go to cPanel or FTP to create a child theme. Great job and thanks for reminding me that I needed this plugin...

BRILLIANT PLUGIN
By , for WP 3.5.1

Absolutely brilliant plugin. Hands down THE BEST "child theme creation" plugin out there. Trust me. Install, and click create-child-theme.

It's that easy. Then, knock yourself out customizing your child theme's details and style :)

GREAT PLUGIN!!!

I hadn't a clue ... but now I do!
By , for WP 3.5

I had no idea how to create child themes. WordPress gave instructions but everytime I tried to follow them, I would just end up creating a disaster. With this little plugin, I've made a child of my theme in seconds. So now my cycling tour and bike hire website is up and running.

Obviously, I had to go back to the WordPress codex and work out how to include my customizations. But the hard work was taken out by this little plugin by giving me the child I've always wanted!

PS ... if you need to know how to add customizations to the php pages you amended, and you can't understand the codex (because it's written by a nerd who knows PHP and assumes we all do), it's simple:

Except for the functions.php file, just copy the PHP files that you amended in your parent theme's folder into your child theme folder using FTP.

As regards any changes you made to your functions.php file, I've no idea what to do there - I don't know much about PHP - but I do know that if you follow the instructions in the codex word-for-word, you'll end up taking down your site.

Child theme with buddypress
By , for WP 3.5.1

Received an error when creating a child theme of twenty ten
Warning: illegal offset type in isset or empty in /xxx/xxx/xxx/wp-includes/theme.php on line 525.
Also, created a child of a buddypress theme and received a message to use a buddypress compatible theme when I activated it.
