The first WordPress XML Sitemap plugin that comes with comprehensive support for Sitemapindex, Multi-site and Google News sitemap.
The only one that has worked the way I want it to work.
Nicely done plugin, but the problem is that sitemap post URLs are constructed in BWP_GXS_MODULE::get_permalink(). And that function doesn't accept core WordPress filter post_link_category.
Why is this plugin building the post URL with a custom function?
Highly advise against using this plugin - there are dozens of other options - and this one breaks your media uploader - you will no longer be able to upload images or browse images on in-page edits.
Good support - still couldn't get it to work.
I've been using this plugin since it was first released, I now have it running on about 15 sites, and it makes a very noticeable difference to the number of pages and posts that get indexed by search engines. Setup is straightforward, then once it's running it just does its thing without you having to worry about it. It's also got a nifty caching system to reduce database queries and therefore server load.
For advanced users, the filter hooks provided allow you to really fine-tune what gets indexed.
In addition, when I've needed support it's always been fantastic - both quick and very friendly.
Works as entended with no issues,Great plugin
Khang provided exceptional 1 on 1 support to troubleshoot and resolve post_modified date issue that persists with common sitemap alternatives like Yoast and Better Google WordPress Sitemap XML. His is the only sitemap that functions without this issue. Highly recommended.
Once installed it added a white field ontop of the whole site.
Once installed It added an strange icon on top of my menu and it completelly messed the <head> of the html, closing it before I had the closing script </head> ....
i do appreciate the effort to build this plugin, however it caused some problems with google indexing on a multisite install.
the biggest problem being all of a sudden many many server errors in the crawl errors section. google was geting server errors on all urls.
when i tried the fetch as google option in gwt it returned "server unreachable" even though all urls were accessible in browser.
as soon as i deactivated this plugin fetch as google returned "Success".
also shows sitemap errors under the sitemap section, 404 not found errors, even thought the sitemap urls were valid. apparently this has something to with caching, and the errors are supposed to disappear after a short time. mine didn't after a couple of days.
this is an ambitious plugin with many options and in theory is just what the doc ordered for a multisite install, but the problems it caused with google webmaster tools are unacceptable. google must be kept happy at all times:) and on an established site those server crawl errors could quickly cost you your place in search results.
switched to simple multisite sitemaps.
The plugin works perfectly.
I use the WordPress SEO plugin that I really like but the sitemap kept breaking which caused me a lot of issues including precious traffic. I tried another plugin and still had issues so I read and read and decided to try BWG.
It was extremely easy to set up the sitemap and it was indexed almost immediately.
In addition to the SEO, I use W3 Total Cache and BPS Security and they all play nice together.
The author provides great documentation in easy-to-understand language with examples. I still had a question and posted on support and he answered very quickly.
If you're having issues with your sitemaps definitely try it and it has support for Google News too.
