WordPress Website Security Protection: Effective...Reliable...Easy to use
I had a few problems in the months immediately after I first installed this plugin, one of the updates broke my theme temporarily, but after uninstalling and reinstalling I haven't had any issues.
Not only has this plugin worked perfectly, the support people went above and beyond to solve a problem with Woocommerce (some files were not automatically whitelisted in the plugin firewall). NO ONE else could track down the root of the problem.
Then they helped figure out an issue that was the result of an unrelated plugin's conflict.
I highly recommend BulletProof and their support staff.
Sunday morning in the western US, ran across a server issue that was quickly (as in ~15 minutes) resolved. Their follow-up was superb too. The software itself is really, really effective: I've been working with permissions and trying to sneak files by the software while I'm configuring and "Nothing Doing." Very happy. Installed (per license) on 4 sites, so for the pro version, $15 per site. Spectacular.
Note: You'll need to manually whitelist Kimili Flash Embed, it looks like (haven't gotten to that point yet). Also, good idea to bump .php memory to 128MEG or better. Learning as I go...
Does a good job.
BulletProof Security has been running on sites I maintain for over a year now with no problems and no successful breaches. The BPS support area gets a good deal of attention as well. I am cleaning up a new client site this week and wish they had BPS installed. Thinking of the days of my life that have been saved from site rebuilds by BPS, I went searching for a way to donate and discovered the Pro version. There's more?! Woo hoo! I could not throw my money down quickly enough. Thanks!
I love BPS, it protected my site several times against hackbots.
Great work, thx for all!
Plenty of documentation. Developer is very active in support. This is a 5 for sure.
After upgrading it blew away my .htaccess file in my public_html folder. In my case I would have preferred to have done an uninstall then a fresh install.
"50,000 customers can't be wrong!" It just didn't work for us.
Tech support was good, though. Except support incorrectly told me my site's been down for a week (it wasn't, he was looking at a corrupt Google cache file), and a moderator challenged me on the fact that my install failed.
Based on a previous version's log file, our site is getting hammered with all sorts of bad guys. So I guess it's doing its job.
I'm a bit of a novice though so I guess everyone including me was having a bad day.
