This is the best way to add a social network to your WordPress site. Works great with WordPress and bbPRess and it's just as easy to grow/expand on as any other WordPress site.
I run a community site with over 100,000 registered users and this is a great tool to really connect the community.
I can see a lot of uses for BuddyPress- simple client portals, learning management areas, exclusive club websites... Works very well and is very customisable when you start to get your head around it.
I like BP, why? 1-it's absolutely free, 2-it has good support, 3-it's 50/50 flexible, 4-it's safe and secure, 5-many other reasons that u can discover in your own community!
