BuddyPress Restrict Group Creation
Extend restricting group creation with mappings to WordPress Capabilities and various thresholds
Works very well in BuddyPress 1.6.5
Initially I was unsure what kind of rules I could set up - screenshots with examples would help there.
Tested this out on my local machine and all is great. Pushed it out to my live site and all is great :)
Suggestion for next version:
Have a drop-down selection of user roles as an alternative UI to specifying the required capability.
I love all the criteria you can choose from to restrict group creation.
