Add real menu items that go directly to buddypress pages! Add a profile dropdown with avatar, message counts, and more- fully customizable.
I just loaded up the plugin and haven't really tested it and everything seems to be working but, it assumes that all bp components are active. If 'Private Messaging' for example is inactive it will throw an error -
Fatal error: Call to undefined function messages_get_unread_count() in ..etc/plugins\bp-direct-menus\inc\frontend-noajax.inc.php on line 72
I wrapped the line in
$msgcount = messages_get_unread_count();
and it works for me.?
I'm new to WP/BP and I've spent three days trying to figure out how to do this - this plugin is the PERFECT solution, I could hug the creator of it.
I recently started using this plugin, and it's brilliant except for that it doesn't show counters AT ALL.
I used the following output (which should work) but it just shows plain code.
This plugin provides much needed menu functionality that's missing from BPs own selection of menu items (accessible via Screen Options in the menu editor). In particular it allows you to display unread message count and user avatar in the menus, plus a bunch of other useful stuff.
The only thing it's missing is display of notification counter eg. %notifications% and %(notifications)%. Would give it 5 stars if it had that (:
I have a feeling you're not looking at this plugin anymore, but I was hoping to add a feature request. This plugin is amazing and I have recommended it many times - however, it lacks one tiny feature that I am not skilled enough to add. We have the message and group counts.. would it (pretty please) be possible to add notification count?
Great job on your plugin, works great!
I have seen many topics and spent hours searching for a plugin or code that enables a buddypress direct link to the profile page instead of just showing the full "members" page.
This plugin works a treat and is very easy use without changing anything other than your navigation title, to Profile for example.
Superb plugin and much easier to use than what the instructions make it appear.
I've been fretting how I will accomplish this for some time now and here it all is in one little package.
THANK YOU !
You did a really good job on this plugin. The only thing I see wrong is when you create a menu link to your profile it also makes the members nav item appear to be active as well as the profile link nav item. Hopefully this will be corrected in a future update. I still have to give you 5 stars for a job well done! Congratulations!
