Add the ability to moderate and approve new topics and replies in the bbPress V2.0 plugin
Really does the job, but approval process and options needs to be refined.
Would be great to be able to bulk approve comments, allow certain roles permission to not be moderated, one click approval function on the topic page. With a bit more input this would be really great!
I want to like this, but
1) approving is too much of a hassle, you have to click on the post to go to post edit screen, then publish. There should be a bulk, or a quick publish when you hover over title.
Also, I don't want this to moderate people who have commented in the past.
In the options, there is this:
Do not moderate (check or uncheck box) A topic or reply by a previously approved author
I have tried both checked and unchecked, and it still holds in moderation replies by previously approved authors.... So I have gone on to disactivate this plugin. Especially because I will be in vacation and need the forum replies to flow without this issue.
However, I want to like it and make it work well for anonymous posts.
Very useful and easy to use. Great job!
I like this bbPress, but is missing some key features for the admin.
I am very well in phpBB, but I needed a basic forum within my blog and did not want to use phpBB for this.
On the members side it is excellent all they need.
For the admin there really should be an APPROVE button for this plugin.
Way to much hassle for this even in bulk option.
Works great and allows me to moderate new topics and posts by new users.
I love your plugin Ian. But I have this one thing in mind that made the new version of yours kind of awkward. After I create a topic, I don't receive or see a notification or warning above that my topic is being moderated. I am using different Create Topic page. Also even though I am not logged in I can see the topic saying awaiting for moderation and it's awkward for a non-user to see a moderated topic even though he/she can't click it. I am hoping that the topic will only be seen by the moderator, admin and the user who posted it, not everybody else.
I am hoping for your kind response soon.
This plugin works well with allowing anonymous postings in bbPress, hiding new topics/replies pending validation.
When Display pending posts on forums is checked, please consider hiding the topic title because that can also be abused.
Thanks for a great plugin!
I'd like the option to turn off moderation for specific forums when creating or editing them. I don't need to moderate all forums because all forum users must register before I allow them to post.
When this plug in is activated, replies are held for moderation but when the user posts, and nothing happens. Apparently the color of of the topic is turned yellow to hint the user that it is held for moderation. How can the user know that if they are new to the forum? I did not know that myself. I did not even notice the color change. I found out reading the support forum. So the plug-in in its current form is not very useful. Users must know what happened to their post otherwise it is a poor experience and they will not return to the forum.
