Schedule complete automatic backups of your WordPress installation. Decide which content will be stored (Dropbox, S3…). This is the free version
I have to chime in and give this developer a TON of credit. I wish people wouldn't be so eager to post a negative review, especially when a developer provides awesome support (see his support page and the many timely replies).
I've looked at all the WP backup plugins out there, and IMO, this is by far the best backup solution I have found. And it by far exceeds all my expectations of what i was looking for originally. The developer has done a tremendous job and included so many options (what to backup, exclude, type of backup, remote backups, plugins and folders to exclude, plugin lists, wp export, scheduling options, auto notifications, etc. etc).
I just installed it on another site, and set up a weekly scheduled backup and kept most the defaults. It works flawlessly. I'm serious. This developer deserves a lot of credit for an amazing WP backup plugin. It's clearly one of the best plugins period. If you run into any issues, just go to the support site and post it. Don't jump the gun and post a negative comment. This plugin has a lot of options, and interfaces with 3rd party backup sites. There are surely going to be issues now and then.
My utmost thanks to the developer for all his work, a great backup utility, and outstanding support!
Great plugin. Thank you
UPDATED: this has been working great since my initial review. We are now using it to save sites to both Dropbox and Amazon S3. The S3 configuration was super quick and simple. So I've updated my rating from 4 stars to 5.
This is a great plug-in. I appreciate the functionality and use it regularly. I would give it 5 stars except for two glitches:
- It "forgot" my Dropbox settings after being updated, and I didn't realize it until backups started failing. I reset the Dropbox auth and now it is working fine again.
- I installed it on a site running 3.2.1 so that I could do a backup before upgrading the site. Unfortunately there was a bug that caused a fatal error and took down the site until I could manage to get in through FTP and delete the plugin. They posted a patch in the forums and I got things working again. But regression testing is a really good idea. ;)
Best I tested! Awesome work.
Véritable couteaux suisse pour la sauvegarde, il est très complet avec de nombreuses options de sauvegarde en local, FTP ou cloud.
I know backWPup has made a ton of changes in the past 2 months and that's wreaked havoc on backups and settings. I haven't enjoyed the growing pains either.
HOWEVER, they've written a great plugin... I use on virtually every client site backing up to S3. It's the best plugin I've seen in this category.
They've worked through the problems, and most importantly, support their plugin. Kudos guys.
The Best so far
It's a very useful plugin to do the backup job. There are not many good plugins at this important section. You can do the job timebased.
Plugin will be supported, for a short time they had big problems, but I think they are done now (Version 3.0.10)
saved my day!
