Easy: just page through the archived posts
By , for WP 3.5.1

You need to look at the post to activate the plug in, so if you're looking to retroactively add to old posts, just set your post count on the page for super-high, then page through your old posts. The thumbails/featured images fall right into place. Thank you!!!

Worked like a champ and solved a significant problem I had while importing RSS feeds to posts.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the developer.

Caused a problem - help!
By , for WP 3.4.2

Hi.

I installed this Plugin and it didn't get around the broken image symbol I was getting in the featured image of my most recent blog post so I deleted the plugin and now all my featured images from all posts have gone. How do I get them back? I've tried manually going into each post and re-setting the Featured Image but nothing is working.

I am not very IT literate so if someone could help in very basic language that would be amazing. Thanks.

Works

It seems to work so far, although I only just installed it. Used the Generate Thumbnails option under settings to have it work on existing posts. Seems to be fine, and it retrieved the images correctly even though they are posted by URL from Smugmug. I'm satisfied.

Seriously, why isn't this part of the core WordPress code? The default Featured Image option sucks because it doesn't work with images posted by URL (and doesn't even give you an error message).
