A calendar system with month, week, day, agenda views; upcoming events widget, color-coded categories, recurrence, and import/export of .ics feeds.
Was using this plugin for a little while and it worked quite nicely. Updated it and now the calendar display is all messed up. No way to revert back, no fix that I could find. So I'm stuck with a messed up site thanks to a bad update.
You can pick some colors on the option panel but you don't see what corresponds to these colors (the option panel is broken for months). There's a lot of bugs or malfunctionning, as the pictures who are fullwidth on an event page. It's difficult to remove one component of a view, and there's always a notice in the dashboard to tell you that your theme seems broken. Using this plugin means a lot of work and a lot of headaches, and there are no support to help you (the support forum is useless, there are nobody to answer).
P.S. : I have made a lot of websites. I don't speak for noobs only. This plugin sucks.
Accessing the site when logged in, or accessing any /wp-admin page took several seconds. Saving changes took several seconds. I was blaming Jetpack until the whole backend crashed, with an error message pointing to a line of code in this plugin. I FTP'd into the site, deleted the plugin directory, and now we're back to normal.
Sorry, Timely. I used to like you...
Timely have a standard response to users of the free plugin - their priority is paid users. That's understandable but when each update creates worse problems than the last, and its virtually unusable, they soon won't have any paid users. I imagine that most paid users are those who up graded from free.
Issueing yet another bug ridden update is a poor step for timely.
A little care and attention to the basic plug in and the majority of users might stop the flight from this now disasterous plugin, but it seems far too late.
Its a real shame but they are killing themselves and driving their users away.
This happened back in October and now again. I get a notice on my dashboard to update to version 1.10.11 and after I do my event widgets disappear. In fact, all my events have now lost their beginning and start dates. Mouse over showing featured image, is now gone. In fact, if I put in new events, they dont even show up. I deleted the plugin directory and restored the old version but still all events are now without dates, and therefore not showing up. I think i have had it with this company.
Lots of html validation errors and loosing google rank when using it. I tired the forums but just after a couple of hours their support deleted my forum threads, i tried twice with two different accounts... both deleted. When contacting support they wanted me to pay to get it fixed. Not a chance in the world. Dont use it!
I like how this calendar looks but the code is buggy - updated my site to the new version of the plugin and it set every single one of my events to December 21, 1969.
Bugs should be resolved on a local server before updates are pushed out.
Everything was great (even though the admin functionality is depressingly lacking in good UX and takes far too long to achieve much of anything), and then I updated to the latest version, and all of my events reset to December 30, 1969 and are completely unchangeable.
Looking for another solution after using this. Avoid this plugin and take your business elsewhere.
Like others here, I have been using this calendar plugin for about a year because I like the widget and the interface is pretty.
But beware - it is a severe system hog frequently going past our host's 30 second PHP execution time, slows down site rendering and plugin updates consistently mess up the dates and times of all the events.
Take the latest one (Feb 2014) "in preparation for going to v2.0" erased all my event dates and they now show up as December 1969.
I'm going back to a Google calendar.
I've used this plugin for over a year, hoping and hoping it would work because of its cool functionality and aesthetic design. But the underlying code is gibberish and will cause you untold system problems. Run away.
