"Add From Server" is a quick plugin which allows you to import media & files into the WordPress uploads manager from the Webservers file
This plugin did exactly what I needed. Thanks so much!
Does exactly what it says, perfectly. I was a little confused in the beginning of how it worked. A simple message in the top of the window would be helpful but basically, you just select the directory where your stuff is by clicking WordPress Root and navigating from there. Bon voyage.
This plugin worked exactly as I needed it to. It uploaded the main media file from my server upload folder, recognizing the WordPress size variations (which were there from a previous install) and not mixing them up with the primary, original media.
I had a large file to upload and GoDaddy imposed a file size limit, so I uploaded my large file via FTP - but then, how to get that file into the WordPress Media library? GoDaddy support didn't know (though they did help me increase the upload limit quite significantly)! Luckily I came across this plugin and it allows you to add the file to the WP Media Library. Great stuff!
Used it to navigate up a few directories to another site on a shared server and pull over the MP3s. Worked fantastically!
As the title says, this plugin does what it says it does and never gives us any problems from version to version. Kudos to the developer and thank you for your contribution.
http is not ftp
Don't use chopsticks to shovel sand: get this plugin.
I use Nginx, the import process is good but the attachment name is error (I get name like this "?????"). What's wrong?
This was the third or fourth plugin I tried and it worked like a charm!
This plugin solved the job perfectly of syncing my WordPress database with the uploads folder that I'd moved from another installation.
I had already moved files into the uploads directory. This plugin recognises that they are there and just includes them in the media library.
