6Scan Security provides comprehensive enterprise-grade security with frequent site scans, powerful firewall, automatic backup, web analytics and much
A complete waste of time. The only thing I can see that this plugin does is get you to hand over your email address and FTP login credentials. If you do try is plugin, make sure you change your FTP password - who knows what these guys are going to do with the information.
I believe that making sure your website is protected from hackers is very important. As I don’t know how to deal with security issues myself, I searched for the best solution for me. A colleague recommended 6Scan, which scans my website 24X7, notifies me via email or sms if something bad was found, and fixes it without anything I have to do.
This plugin is keeping me and my visitors safe from viruses, and so I look at it as money well spent.
6Scan seems to be the ultimate plugin for security peace of mind. I have no idea what malware or SQL Injection really are, and hopefully with 6Scan I won’t have to know...
I installed the plugin, and it automatically fixed two security problems I didn’t even know I had…
I tried a few security plugins, 6scan is the only one that finds vulnerabilities AND fixes them automatically. Exactly what I needed.
Really easy to install & use.
Does the work.
Wee had some issues with some of our sites so we added 6scan to our site for protection after getting recommendations from some friends.
All we can say now is thank you 6scan for protecting our sites and finding some issues.
And more importantly is that 6scan fixes the issues and for us this is very important.
Now we feel safer knowing that our site is being watched over and if issues are found we will be notified and that a fix is avaialble.
6scan is a simple to use, must have tool for your wordpress site. I operate 3 different wordpress sites using various plugins. With 6scan, I know that whatever I choose to plugin, I can do so with confidence that this little technology is watching my back.
The technology works simply and easily installs on any WP instance. It scans your site in just a few minutes. If it discovers something, rather than just saying, "hey, you have a problem." It instantly patches and plugs the problem. And yes, you do have to pay for this automation. But, for the frugal webmaster, you can always follow their instructions to repair at no cost.
No one disputes that code is imperfect. The stats on vulnerabilities in code is pretty staggering. Combine that with crowd sourcing from the WP framework, and you essentially changed your odds...the odds being in your favor that your site is going to get hacked. It's that simple. Anyone using this framework knows it has its flaws. So, don't be naive to think its safe. This is why you use products like 6scan. Regardless if the frame work heals or the author patches, 6scan delivers automatic remediation to vulnerabilities in the frame work or plug-ins or other. I have close to 13 years in the security business. A lot products can tell you where there are holes, flaws, or risks. Others can help you manage the remediation. 6scan combines both into a consumer-like delivery mechanism right from your wordpress instance that prevents vulnerabilities from being exploited real-time.
For those of you who think its a scam, I'm sorry you have such sentiments. You should reconsider. With Google, MSFT and other releasing Malicious URL feeds, being blacklisted will instantly kill traffic to your site. Anyone who has not been blacklisted, you are in for a treat. None of the security or search companies will give you any attention or assistance to fix your site reputation once it's in the toilet.
Bottomline: Good product, easy to use, simple, inexpensive and may just safe @$$ when you need it.
I was surprised to see all the negative reviews for 6scan. I've been using the service for about a year and I've been very happy with it.
Of course, I knew it was a paid plugin to begin with. I think that's where a lot of people feel cheated because they thought it was a free plugin when they downloaded it and then it probably says you need to upgrade to fix such and such problem.
For me though, it's been a good experience.
Every time I've contacted support for anything, they've always gotten back to me quickly and resolved whatever I was asking about right away, which I would expect from a paid plugin.
I tested out most of the major competitors back when I was building a security strategy. To me 6scan seemed to be a direct competitor of bulletproof security, which I liked a lot as they provide preventative protection instead of just scanning for existing infections.
But 6scan was a lot easier to navigate and a lot more hands off. I really decided to go with them though when they added the login security and backup features. It seemed like it was worth the price to have all those things in one and not have to deal with compatibility issues between the multiple plugins needed to replace 6scan.
One thing I will say though is that it was cheaper when I signed up for the service. It's gotten a bit pricey now, so that's something to consider.
