I uploaded this plugin and decided I did not like it. I deleted the plugin on WordPress Dashboard and checked that it was deleted from my file directory. However, the Zemanta features still show up and clutter my sidebar whenever I am in the page or post editor.
How can I get rid of it?

Did you deactivate it before deleting? You might want to contact the developer.
