• Hi WordPress community,

I’m new to WordPress (and web development in general) and could really use some help in speeding up my small personal site. Yslow test grades me with an F. I took a screenshot of the report: Here

I’ve done about half a day of research on this, and there seems to be a lot of this happening out there with WP sites, but none that actually tells me how to fix this X__X

    site: nathanabshire.com
    Running on WP 3.5.1
    Hosted by iPage

    Active Plugins:
    Akismet
    Facebook
    Jetpack by WordPress.com
    W3 Total Cache
    WordPress SEO

I don’t have a lot there at all. I feel like I’m running the bare minimum. I thought W3 Total Cache was going to help me out some, but my grade is still an F. I don’t know if I configured W3 Total Cache correctly to begin with.

Any help is greatly appreciated 🙂

  • It’s hard to say why W3TC is not giving you more help. You can submit a bug submission form from the support tab of the plugin, so I can see your settings.

in my test its been a “E” with score of 55,
    I can say 2 things:
1 – your site isnt slow

2 – YSlow (and similar tests) score isnt a law, its just a recomendation,
if you can easily fix something to get better score – do it, if it needs more action… Dont overoptimize 🙂

It’s a relief to hear some outside opinions on this, thanks.

I’ve submitted the bug from the support tab.
