I am a Jr. High Pastor that recently set up a wordpress.org page for our Jr. High Ministry. I'm curious if there are any other Youth Pastors that are using the WordPress software to make their pages cool. I want to know how to post Mp3's of my teachings, post announcements, post a calendar that I can edit, etc. Would love some feedback if anybody has some ideas.

Posted 4 years ago #You're a little unclear on what your setup is all about. Are you hosting your own domain and running the WordPress software to power your site? Or do you have something like blogname.wordpress.com?
If its the latter, this isn't the right forum.
What it sounds like you want to do is to create a media container for your MP3 files, and this is basically Podcasting. You can create containers for your podcasts thru Feedburner or even iTunes. Either way you're going to have to host your MP3 files somewhere, either on your own server in a directory which you'd then use as a path to Feedburner to create an RSS container, or with iTunes.
RSS containers for podcasts enable people to subscribe to your content. There are some other plugins and widgets out there which will allow people to stream content directly from your site, either with an embedded media player or direct link -- a simple way to do this is to create a hyperlink to the hosted MP3 file and set it to open in a new browser window, which will cause the user's computer to enable either a quicktime plugin or whatever the default media player on their machine is set to use.
