I keep getting this error:
Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL which is required for WordPress.
It appears everytime I go to /wp-admin/install.php to install.
I've tried tweaking the config file numerous times and I've read the help files the last hour and a half but haven't had any luck. Any got suggestions?

Problem solved. If you are using Godaddy for hosting, you have to comment out lines 52 and 53 from wp-settings.php in order for it to work
That seems to indicate that mySQL is not running on your web hosting account. If it was, and you simply had the wrong username/password/database name, etc., then you'd get a different message.
I would check your web hosting account first.
Oops. You'd already answered. Glad it worked out.
