Well this pass week i have been trying to upgrade WordPress 3.1.3 to 3.2-RC4. It would not work, it would stall and run for hours, no luck, so every-time i had to stop the upgrade, and delete the . maintenance file via FTP. Then the new 2011 Update came out so i figured, maybe it was just the RC file. No luck either, then the official release of 3.2 came out still no luck. So i looked it up the first link i clicked said go to wp-content and delete the upgrade folder, there is to many temporary files! So i deleted it, all the updates went through. NO PROBLEM. So for your next release you need to really fix this WordPress, I don't have the time to fool around with some Realtors website and screw it up!

That sounds like an issue with the server, actually, not WordPress itself. I would speak with your webhost and see if they can help you diagnose.

    definitely a web host setting...

are you running an off the shelf shared platform or something you have configured?

just done updates of about 50 sites no issues.
and our sandbox has been running the 3.2 Rc's also no issues there.
