    Hi All,

I have wordpress hosted on Yahoo and read this article in the codex on updating. I successfully updated everything and all my files are where they should be, however when I go to the site, my PHPMyAdmin login screen appears. Obviously this has something to do with what I did in order to update. I am a novice WordPress user and am slightly foggy on the basics, so it is probably something obvious that I haven't caught.

    Thanks

My guess is you installed phpMyAdmin (I think Yahoo calls that the database tool) into the folder where WordPress is also installed.

You might try getting the index.php from the WordPress zip file and use that.

    Thanks Michael.

I think I am on the verge of getting this.....

I uploaded the index.php file from my wordpress zip file and am now getting a "Error establishing a database connection" message.

I think I am having trouble understanding where my database is and what to call it in the wp-config file and how it relates to the wp files.

Your database is 'somewhere' on Yahoo's servers, but the phpMyAdmin tool allows you to create databases and tables in the database.

Your wp-config.php file should have 'mysql' for the DB_HOST value and the DB_USER and DB_PASSWORD is what you setup in Yahoo's control panel.

If necessary, leave your email address and I'll email you for more info.
