xyz.com points to index file of htdocs in xampp serve how can i get homepage ins

hello everybody out here i am new to this world problem is something like this when i request my domain i.e http://www.xyz.com it point to index file in htdocs which is it works in xampp and if i request http://www.xyz.com/wordpress it point to my site then how can i resolve this problem ?? my site homepage should appear pls help me out urgently and thanks in advance i know all are genius people here
