I am trying to repair problems with my Flickr and ScribeFire accounts and WordPress. I cannot post from either ScribeFire or Flickr to my blog because of the xmlrpc.php. I just installed wp-security scan, and changed my login from admin to a more secure username. Is there a connection between the two accounts’ problems with xmlrpc.php and the username change? If so what do I do with xmlrpc.php?

  • How was this resolved? I am having a similar problem. thanks.

Hunting for solution for xmlrpc.php issue too – cannot upload images via windows live writer probably the same thing. Hoping someone has addressed it but I’ve been searching for hours so far and found only unanswered pleas.

When linking into wordpress from flickr, flickr returns an invalid username or password fail.
Wordpress needs to have “remote publishing by xml-rpc” enabled on the dashboard/settings/write page before trying to make an incoming link! This is disabled by default, and not mentioned at the flickr end…
