Hello,
I use Ecto or MarsEdit on Mac.
I don't know if it's since WordPress 2.6, but now when I put the embed code (from youtube for example) in HTML editor and I publish it, the embed code just disappear ! :geek:
So on the website the video doesn't appear, and when I edit the post with ecto, the embed code is gone.
Have you same problems ?

Ok i found the problem but not the solution...
If I post as Administrator or Author, the embed code works. But if i'm as Editor (or less level), it doesn't work.
???

LITTLE Green men on mars editing your posts.
Have you tried turning off the visual editor for the user posting.

Where ? In WordPress or in Ecto ?
I use ecto, I write directly in HTML code and publish it.
No I mean turn off your visual editor - if you have it on, I am assuming you have. Turn it off in your user profile in Admin->users.

youtube, dailymotion... all things use embed code.
you can try to use a plugin to embed videos then, try this one
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-video-plugin/
In general avoid putting html directly into the post code - at least my opinion.

You don't understand... I don't use wordpress admin to write a post! I use Ecto or Marsedit. So a plugin is not helpful.
Plus, it works fine when i'm ADMIN or EDITOR level, but not in AUTHOR or less...
That's the real problem...
But i can see, nobody has the problem :s
