    Hi there,

i have a hughe problem since i updated WP yesterday to the new 3.5 version. The WP SEO XML Sitemap function is broxen. My browsers deliver my a redirect error: Watch here for example: http://www.munovamus.de/sitemap_index.xml

Is this issue allready known and will ther be a bug fix in near future or do i have to manually change something to fix this?

    Thanks for the reply

Here is a little note: i switched back to the version 1.3.2 of the Plugin. Now the XML sitemap runs like it did before. I noticed in the developement log that there have been changes to the sitemap methods. Maybe there is an issue with the new WordPress Version? i don't know.

Switching back to the older Version of the Plugin is not the best choice, but it works.

I hope there will be a bug fix for that problem in the next patch.

I am having the same issue. Redirect loop. I see the original poster is using Apache. I am using Nginx (with the rewrite rules).

Just so their is an abundance of information, I am using WP 3.5 Multisite in a multi-network configuration. On one network I do not use, I deactivated *all* other plugins except WordPress SEO. I am also used the TwentyEleven theme to eliminate all other variables.

I still get the redirect loop. I did not get the redirect loop in any previous version of WordPress SEO. I am going to move back to 3.2

I am not certain how my configuration compares to the others posting here.

errr, that would be switching back to 1.3.2 of the plugin, not WP 3.2

I'm on WP 3.4.2, SEO 1.3.3 still breaks my sitemaps.

    Same problem
Since the last update the sitemap does not work, google does not crawl my pages, I have errors in webmaster tools.
    Please update

I have switched to using a dedicated sitemap plugin for now. Maybe this plugin is a little too "all in one". You should probably do the same because your site ranking will plummet if Google gets 404 on your sitemaps!

When I've seen the problem immediately installed the plugin xml sitemaps

I have lost indexing in google for all my sites that have installed the plugin wp seo by this problem. It is a serious disaster for me!!!

Hmm it is a bug indeed. Will fix for the next release, apparently some server variables can't be trusted.

@Diosneptuno: what you're saying is not true. XML Sitemaps help google find your content, removing your content from an XML sitemap or no longer having one will not all of a sudden deindex all your old content.

@JoostdeValk I've lost the top positions most of my sites by this problem.
I have not lost indexing, I lost positions. Excuse me.

That's not related either, AT ALL. You can blame me for many things, but not your site's loss of positions :)

Sitemaps are working again under 1.3.4.1. Thanks Joost.

Nothing works on my site when I put a post up. I had to go back to the older version. And that doesn't even work. Whenever sitemap is turned on, every page on the website turns to a 404 not found page.
I guess the only option is not to use your sitemap. This issue can be seen going back over 6 months. The SEO part is more important then the sitemap part, since there are other ways to do that easily.
Thanks for a great plugin, I hope all these bugs get fixed soon.

No such luck for some of us. I have 3.5 and 1.3.4.1, I don't have a redirect loop, but I have an error:

This page contains the following errors:

error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

There is a separate thread about this here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/xml-sitemap-putting-out-parsing-error?replies=5

Any help or fix would be greatly appreciated!

I think I was a victim of a redirect loop also. At least it looked like one, because the server was slowed to a crawl after upgrading to WP 3.5 and SEO 1.3.4.1. An hour after the upgrade the server had something like ~140 load and some hundreds of httpd connections and mysql. I barely could do an apache restart. After that I've put back my old yoast seo version, 1.2.8.7 and everything is back to normal.

    A simple question.
To downgrade the app, is it sufficient to replace the folder via FTP or is necessary to clean some files from code?

Same here.I have updated to WP 3.5 with SEO 1.3.4.1. The sitemaps are not generated. In my server I make use of nginx with proper rewrite rules.

I am getting this error. I see two sitemaps for my posts. Post-sitemap1 and postsitemap2.
