    Hello,

    Is XLM-RPC needed if your wordpress installation is self-hosted. Aka no Jetpack, etc…

    Also does turning off trackbacks and pingbacks affect SEO and traffic? Real traffic, not bot traffic.

    Is XLM-RPC needed if your wordpress installation is self-hosted.

    XML-RPC is primarily used by blogging clients, like a mobile or desktop non-browser blogging app. Some plugins also require XML-RPC, though they generally make this known fairly clearly.

    No, not in the least. It just means you won’t be linking back to their blog if they link to you.
